bottom left: cream with exquisite antique lozenge pattern appliqu’d border in soft blues, greens and reds.

bottom right: electric blue with red antique jamawar appliqu’d border.

as a pompom at the bottom: a red shawl with a leopard spotted antique border.

read our order page to find out more, or use the form on our contact page to order a brochure, send us an email or request a call-back.

special borders

contrast woven borders: natural shawls are woven with a contrasting colour border and then enhanced with delicate silk embroidery in toning colours.

antique borders: rare borders are taken from nineteenth century shawls surviving as remnants (we would never cut up a whole old shawl).

the antique border is appliqued by hand to a new shawl to create a genuine vintage piece.
