TURQUOISE AND SEASCAPE: COOL COLOURS

some of my embroiderers have been working on these shawls very slowly, and have finally finished these exceptional pieces. their work is very finely detailed, with complex miniaturised flowers and traditional paisley.

main: bright tone to tone all over embroidered shawl of antique turquoise with paler complex floral embroidery of white and a lighter turquoise green. there are many different flowers in this gorgeous piece together with a very pretty border.

as a pompom: a wonderful green-blue ‘seascape’ shawl intricately stitched with tiny flowers in white and bright blue all filled in with silvery white.

embroidered jali

jali means literally ‘a net’, which carries the sense of a fine cloth that one can see the light through, rather like a stained glass window.

the result is a light shawl, soft and beautifully worked. wear with a pair of jeans or a ball gown. covetable shawls and fashion statements of warmth and flattery.

whether embroidered lightly or heavily, with a border or with beads – each one of these shawls is a work of individuality and detail.
